Gen Z Boba Campaign
& Shoot

Consumers don’t want to be sold to; they want to feel seen, especially in paid media. But creative fatigue is real! So I led and directed a creative refresh campaign and shoot to introduce a new way to express ourselves and our love for Kung Fu Tea boba. The goal was to create ads that don’t feel like ads and shift the focus away from just product imagery and back to the community and those who make it up.

This campaign was all about real energy, real culture, and real people. I pulled inspiration from nostalgia, Y2K, Gen Z trends, kawaii details, fandom culture, and the everyday moments that make boba such a part of people’s lives.

As America’s bubble tea brand, Kung Fu Tea is showing up to portray the community that built us. This shoot is about capturing that spirit: playful, expressive, and authentic, and helping shape the next era of what boba culture looks like.

This acted as a new creative direction for social and digital content for the brand. The focus isn’t perfection or heavy posing, it’s connection. We’re creating content people relate to and fall in love with naturally.

I wanted to pour life back into these products.

I wanted to shape the next era of what boba culture looks like by showing the real people that make it up.

I wanted to create something that felt sweet to look at and sweet to sip on.

Kung Fu Tea has always been built by the community, the friend groups, the late night study runs, the “let's go get boba" moments. So today, tomorrow, and always, we’re leaning more into what built us. More culture. More personality. More of the people who actually make KFT what it is.

The gamers seeking comfort between matches. The cosplayers building a world from fabric and thread. The students who made it through another semester. The kawaii lovers with the over-accessorized bag collecting joy in small details. The metalheads who feel most alive in music. The teachers who just needed a sweet treat that day. The parents who survived Saturday soccer.

This is what our community looks like. It looks like you. Different stories. Same boba stop. Still fresh brewed. Still handcrafted. Still your go-to.

Just louder in the right ways.
